The NPAS Agency
The NPAS Agency, which started life 25 years ago in Digges Lane, the original Dance Centre, is still an integral and important part of our school. The NPAS Agency represents our students in Film, Theatre, Television and Modeling work. Our school is contacted regularly by Casting Agents and Directors and we will source suitable students for various projects. If we decide to send a student to an audition, we will get in touch with the child’s parents / guardians and discuss the brief for the particular project. If they decide to allow their child attend the audition, and if the student is successful, The NPAS Agency will look after contracts, chaperones and any other requirements there are relating to the project. We will charge a commission of between 10% and 15%, depending on the project, this is inline with common practice. All photos taken in Agency Photo shoot will be kept securely on file, and may be used by us in castings. Our Agency has always been a popular source of talent, with many of our students appearing in successful television, film and advertising campaigns.
The Photo shoot
The NPAS Agency Photo shoot takes place once a year, and is the time when we invite students to ‘come on the books’. This does not guarantee that you will get a part, or even that you will be sent for an audition. Each Casting Brief is different, and we can only send our most suitable students. The Photo shoot consists of a 1 hour Agency workshop, when we will workshop audition procedure and talk through what is expected in going for various projects. Your photo will then be taken by Chris Power Smith, one of Ireland’s leading Portrait Photographers. You will receive a copy of your photo, and we will keep a digital copy on our files for the year. The cost for The Agency Photo shoot day is €25. This year the Photo shoot takes place on Sunday the 13th of November. Please book your place at reception in The Factory.
NPAS People
Some young people choose never to audition for anything, and some choose to audition all the time. We are as proud of the ones who go on to be bank managers and waiters as we are of those who go on to be famous actors and stars of the west end stage. All are wonderful, and all are the same in our eyes. Happily, they tend to feel the same about us. We meet past pupils all the time who have realized, and tell us, that their time in our school and their time on the stage in the Olympia Stage were the Best of Times. They tell us how NPAS has provided them with the most special memories of their childhoods and teenage years, as well as with confidence, self assuredness and belief in themselves which has made them amazing people. And many also found some excellent friends for life along the way!!

The Irish Board of Speech and Drama
In March Each Year our Drama Students take exams with The Irish Board of Speech and Drama.
Speech and Drama is about communication, confidence, skill, talent and creativity. And we at the Irish Board of Speech and Drama want to encourage it.
The Irish Board is an independent body which provides an objective assessment of achievement in communication skills and dramatic arts through its progressive examination system, catering for all age groups.
We publish a syllabus which encourages and facilitates the development of important communication and dramatic skills.
Irish Board exams with NPAS take place in March. Students can choose your poems, prose and drama pieces. Your teacher will choose suitable pieces with you and work through the exam syllabus with you.
Our examiners are encouraging and friendly, and generate a relaxed atmosphere so that candidates can perform to their best ability. We affirm progress through written reports and certificates.
