Saturday 19th September, 2020
Dear Students and Parents,
We are writing to you to let you know that we have had to postpone the reopening of NPAS for this school year. We have decided to wait until the new Phase 3 restrictions are lifted to start classes, in person on Saturday and Sunday the 10th & 11th of October.
As we are sure you are aware the new Phase 3 Government and NPHET Guidelines are very strict, and in particular they are really strict for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre schools. We have continued to work with all the health and safety bodies and we are confident that we can hold classes live for the new term. Students in class will be divided into pods / groups of 6 students. Depending on the studio in use there may be one or more pods in a class. All safety protocols will be adhered to completely. We will launch classes in person on 10th and 11th of October at our venues, some of which are new to us. If for some reason we are unable to teach in class with students we will switch to a blended learning Programme and hold classes as a LIVE ZOOM experience. This will be as an absolute last resort as we really want to have our students present in class. We believe we can do this safely but we must now wait until Dublin returns to Phase 2 protocols. We will be booking young people into their classes in pods of six so even if numbers are lowered we would hope to have everyone in every second or third week to class at least.
Our absolute priority is in helping keep National Schools and Secondary Schools open – it is the priority of NPHET and of the Government, and we feel that waiting to restart classes until the 10th and 11th of October will help in this.
We really love our school, and we are so happy that you are a part of NPAS. We are grateful for each and every one of you attending our school and we hope that you will stay with us during this very unusual time. We will have the new timetable out to you next week. Students who had registered and paid for Term 3 have their credit added to their Easy Payment account and will receive a prebooking email from us as a courtesy to book into classes first. Thanks for your support over the Summer! We are very excited about NPAS 2020/21 – we have missed you all. The timetable will be with you shortly and we cannot wait to see you really soon!
Kindest Regards agus Sláinte.
