The Tiernan Family & The Story of their Appeal for Technology

By npas 0

We have just received a call from one of our Amazing NPAS families to help out in an incredible initiative they have started. You can click on the link above to read all about The Tiernan Family’s work in finding technology for patients who may not have any in hospital and now in Nursing Homes. We have all grown accustomed to reaching out and staying connected with our friends and families on iPads, Phones, Tablets and Laptops. Some people, people who really need to be connected, do not have the technology needed. We are  asking our students and parents to donate any old technology, in good condition, which can connect to the internet and can stream video calls, which will be donated to clients in Nursing Homes. If you have a piece of equipment you would like to donate, an old phone, an iPad in a drawer at home or a laptop here are the details of where you can post, drop, or arrange collection.

POST, DROP OFF OR ARRANGE COLLECTION

Laptops and iPads can either be dropped to The Beacon Hospital Sandyford. for the attention of Dr. Eóin Tiernan. Department of Palliative Medicine, or to The Tiernan Family home at The Gables. Sycamore Crescent. Mount Merrion. A94Y8D2. There is an option for collection from a number of homes where people can’t leave the house. Sandra Tiernan is coordinating the project, and can be contacted on 0876574134 or sk.tiernan@gmail.com. We have put a link below to  the GoFund Me Page which you can click on if you would like to Donate to the Fundraiser.

WHAT NPAS NEED YOU TO DO!!

We are also asking our students to help out in recording Bruno Mars song “Count on Me”. We hope that this will be used to raise funds to also buy some technology for Nursing Home Clients.

What we need you to do is video record yourself singing along to the Bruno Mars track “Count on Me”.   The video link . The words are there too and we would love you to send your video in landscape mode to us. Molly and Louis will then edit the videos and work their magic to create something Fabulous.

If you have an NPAS Teeshirts or sweatshirt, or a costume or anything fun throw it on for your video. Please make sure the track isn’t too loud so we can hear all your beautiful voices.

The Video will be used to promote the Fundraising effort and to help in the collection of communication devices for Nursing homes. When you send us your performance you are agreeing to be part of this production, so make sure your Parents know that you are sending us a video. We hope you join in with lots and lots of singing and dancing, maybe even with your brothers, sisters and pets

Louis’ Number 1 Filming Tip: To get the best lighting pop your phone/camera up by a window that has lot’s of light shining in so we can see your faces!
