Teacher

Lauren began tap dancing at 3 years of age in a local class on the Navan Road. Soon after, she became a student of the National Performing Arts School where she studied tap dance, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, drama and singing. On leaving NPAS, she studied mechanical engineering at Trinity College. This was where she discovered her love of teaching dance. She became actively involved with the Trinity Vincent de Paul society, directing their Christmas Pantomime in the O’Reilly Theatre, 2010 and choreographing a number of productions for DU players.

She continued her studies of dance with Lisa Tyrrell and WhyNot Dance Company, completing ISTD exams in classical ballet and is now working towards the Diploma in Dance Instruction.

In 2014 she trained with Heather Cornell in New York, furthering her education in rhythm tap and exploring the idea of a tap dancer as a musician as well as a dancer. She has performed with WhyNot dance company, at Walk to the Beat festival, NY and is part of LeChéile Dance company.
